Setting An Invitation To Play & Mother's Day Crafts

I honestly believe that reading The Danish Way of Parenting really made me lean into so many parts of parenting that I truly loved. Hygge. The Danes are famously the happiest people in the world, and hygge is a cornerstone of their way of life. Hygge (pro-nounced Hoo-ga) loosely translates as a sense of comfort, togetherness, and well-being. You know hygge when you feel it. And that is exactly how I look at invitations to play, an unscripted and only gently inviting kiddos to an activity. I…

Books on Moving & Change For Kids

Hey hey, it's our last week at this beach winter rental, we have been here since late summer and I will miss it so much. More on that later but for now we have been packing and getting stuff to storage and other stuff ready to move to our summer rental. But before the packing I made sure (like pretty much any other experience the girls have had ) I made sure we talked things through, accepted big feelings (and that mixed feelings were normal!) we shed some tears and read a lot of books on…

Hi!! Want You, I Hope You, Chapter Books, Have Time, Just Go, This Book, The Incredibles, I Want You

Hey there!! I hope you had a wonderful Saturday. I was going to include this in tomorrows newsletter but I could not wait and wanted you all to have time to look at these incredible books. I hosted an Usborne party, if you don't know them, then you have got to check the website out. SO many great books and I bet you have seen at least the That's not my "" books. We have had the That's not my duck since Ami was a baby and I didn't realize it was from them. But I digress, the books range from everything that is learning, to baby, to fiction and non-fiction, all types of chapter books, and my favorite there activity/painting ones. I have been considering actually joining them as a consultant just because I share them so much, so I thought I would try this party first. This Facebook group goes through some of her favorites, the new and ones we requested to see more of. I love that it has youtube videos going over some books, super helpful as the party wasn't really a live (she posted 10 posts and went through things). And here are some favorites she discussed, the link to shop is at the end of this post if you would like to just go scope things out yourself.

Review of Our Favorite Early Chapter Books With Zoe

Zoe has read the book she is holding twice, and when posing for this photo, (which by the way she completely set up and directed me!) she got super into the book and read most of it after this photo, it was so cute. Happy weekend! Stopping in with a weekend post because when I posted that Zoe has been zipping through chapter books and that it's hard to keep up (thank goodness for Epic online books, amazon and book outlet!) so many of you reached out to ask for recommendations for your young…
