History of Landing, New Jersey on Lake Hopatcong, Roxbury Township NJ
The largest Steamship on the Lake, the White Line's double-decker side-wheeler "Hopatcong" at Landing dock, circa 1905. Other White Line boats were the single deck side-wheelers Alametcong and the Musconetcong. Smaller boats were the Flossie II and the Nariticong.

A busy scene, circa 1905. Boats wait to pick up passengers who would disembark from the Trains at the Landing station. The boats would then take them up a Canal a bit, then into the feeder canal and on to Lake Hopatcong. A train is coming eastbound from the Hackettstown area, and the siding at top left holds some sidelined Freight Cars

It shows the Morris Canal in Landing (Morris County) at the Lake Hopatcong train station on the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad. Some of the great detail in the photo shows the Landing General Store and Post Office.
