This Level had an existing layout made by Mathieu Audrain. He also handled the rest of the LD, Mission Design and Scripting. Thanks to this, I could focus exclusively on Set Dressing and Lighting for the entire level. The wavy chasing sections were initially made by Mathieu in Houdini. For the final version however, I had to rework them a bit and rework their UVs. On Dead City, I worked on the Zurk chase sequence and the following area up to B12 flat. For the chase sequence, I was responsible for the Map layout, Set Dressing, Lighting and first pass Zurk placement. Due to the nature of the map, it was important to work at the same time on layout, visual clarity and enemy spawns point with constant playtest to ensure proper readability and balancing, The main constraints being the starting and ending points, as well as the total sequence duration…

Rooftops went through some cuts and changes but most of the level design by Mathieu Audrain was already in place when I started working on it. We used Houdini to generate building facades and I then made some custom roofs for the navigation.
