[MOC] Sapphire Eagle, my first steam loco

Hello I like to share the result of Spark Industries new side project. The company produces modern locos and cars, but wants to salute the old times. So designed a steam engine with enthusiasm and love. She is a 4-6-4 Hudson type loco: There wasnt a particular real loco for modelling, but the mai...

Gingerbread Train

LEGO Rebrick is currently running a contest to build a train for the 10259 Winter Holiday Station. Being a gingerbread fan myself I immediately began designing a gingerbread train. The gingerbread train is made of cookie coloured bricks, tooth aching white icing and delicious crispy candy. The locomotive contains a small oven to bake pies. The tender is loaded with candy. The first carriage carries a big cake that rotates while riding and a big pie filled with pudding, croissant, pie and…

BNSF GP38-2

My first locomotive. This was actually my first MOC after I came out of my dark ages. As you can see, it is heavily inspired by the work of swoofty - but why reinvent the wheel when someone has done it perfectly before? I learned that building with dark green really is a pain. Some dark green plates are still missing - so it remains as a work in progress. Many design iterations on this loco, especially on the trucks and handrails.

Lego NS GP40-2 MOC

Well, I have been lurking here for awhile. This project has been a several-month adventure, and although frustrating at many times, was a real pleasure to work on. I was inspired by this amazing WIP MOC www.flickr.com/photos/88718670@N02/8504933854 (by “Pickyourownbogie”) and decided that I had to have my own. I borrowed a handful of ideas from that picture in constructing my long hood; I especially admired the cab-roof and dynamic-brake grid, as well as the “door latches”. I borrowed the…
