someone is pouring water into a blender on the kitchen counter with words about how to use it
5K views · 447 reactions | Did you know that synthetic scented candles release toxins into the environment when they’re burned? That’s because many are made from paraffin wax (a byproduct of gasoline production) which releases known carcinogens like formaldehyde and benzene into the air. And phthalates are used in synthetic fragrance, which is a known endocrine disruptor that can interfere with hormones and lead to health issues like reproductive problems, thyroid dysfunction, and breast cancer. So that’s why I make an all-natural room spray if I want to fragrance my home. Non-toxic Room Spray recipe: 1 cup filtered water 1 tbsp rubbing alcohol 20 drops essential oil of your choice* Mix and spray 2 or 3 times pointing upwards in the middle of your room, or on your cushions, curtains and linens. *Be sure to choose a pet-safe essential oil if you have pets.
Keep this recipe on hand with my sheet of Non-toxic Cleaning Labels - available at kashahome.com 💚 Sources: “Extent of exposure to scented candles and prevalence of respiratory and non-respiratory symptoms amongst young university students” PMID: 36631840 | Kasha | Sabrina Carpenter · Please Please Please

They are so easy to create and I love that I can customize them for every season, holiday, and occasion. I like to use my flameless candle hack when creating these, so that I can safely use and enjoy them year after year. I only light them to create the candle wax memory so that a tealight flameless candle will fit inside (you can also scoop the wax out with a spoon). While I have heard that you can use this same napkin technique on flameless candles, it needs to be a real wax flameless candle. I personally love this method using a real candle and an iron (vs a hair dryer as I feel like the blowdryer can spread/blow wax where it’s not wanted and an iron has more heat control) and it’s easy to remove the flameless tealight candle when storing the past season’s candles and then move the flameless tea light candles to the next set of napkin candles. Do you like to make these napkin candles for each season and holiday? | Giustina | DIYs • Recipes • Home Inspiration

a woman standing next to a white book shelf
These bookcases originally cost $37 each. Would you have guessed it?! There are lots of creative ways to upgrade these kinds of shelves but I've picked a few beginner friendly simple ways to share. 1. Add trim: you can add a simple face frame to the front or decorative trim to the side. Think box trim, fluting, so many fun options 2. Make it seamless: if the shelves are adjustable, you end up with lots of little holes in your unit. If you don't plan on moving the shelves, you can spackle right over them for a clean look. Adding caulk where boards meet will help as well. 3. Paint: when painting these, you want to sand it first and prime with a good primer such as a shellac or oil based one. I usually use an enamel paint for durability and always wait for it to cure before styling. 4. Your molding doesn't have to go to or touch the ceiling. Just add a decorative board to the top. It will make all the difference. I still have some paint touch ups to do on these and I'm excited to style them for my son. Stay tuned for the full reveal coming soon. #doablediy #builtinshelves #builtindesk #furnitureflip | Creatiffdiy | Creatiffdiy · Original audio
