two lemons and some leaves next to a potted plant on the ground with water in it
Sarahli Wilcox on Instagram: "DIY Aged Terracotta Pots ~ In case you missed this DIY last year, I'm pulling this one from archive. I absolutely love how easy this DIY is! Overtime Terracotta Pots age beautifully collecting a calcium build up and a green moss haze, but it usually takes a few years. You can buy some with the aged look, but they’re not as common to find and a bit pricey. But I’ll show you an easy process to get a similar patina look on your terracotta pots. Supplies you'll need: · Garden Lime · Terracotta Pots · Brush · Water · 220 grit Sandpaper · Clear Matte Spray ( water-based, plant based would be ideal for herbs) · Leaves from your backyard Using garden lime mixed with water, we are going to create a limewash. You can make it as runny or as thick as you would like,

Zone 7 Gardening on Instagram: "It’s pea planting season! I made this trellis from those free hardwood off cuts I got from a local cabinet maker. Check out my YouTube for a full tutorial! The video is linked in the DIY highlight! This design is incredibly easy to build and it can scaled up or down to fit any size or application. Credit to Mitch @pnwnodig and his “DIY pea trellis” reel for the inspiration behind my design. I did make a couple changes so that mine is collapsable and can be adjusted to fit your planting needs but also packs up flat for storage. #trellis #pea #peas #beans #beantrellis #organicgardening #raisedbeds #raisedbedgarden #nodig #nodigallotment #nodiggarden #zone7gardening #zone6 #zone8b #zone7a #zone7b #springveggies"

Katie McGinn | Garden Coach & Wildcrafter on Instagram: "This is a gift any gardener would love. And if that gardener is yourself - then I say treat yourself! I have wanted custom garden markers FOREVER and was so excited when I figured out that @sculpey_official clay can be used outdoors! This craft is super easy - and you can make as many as your heart desires. I stopped at the veggies, but will probably get started on them again for herbs! If you want to know what materials I used for this craft, just comment “LINK” below and I will DM you the link to my Amazon Storefront. The clay package that is linked there will make about 16 of these garden markers. Here is the full tutorial: • Knead and roll the out Sculpey clay to about 1/4” thick. Sibia Torres Padilla | DIYs on Instagram: "Here is how we have been making our own seed plantable paper for years. I found that a splatter guard from the kitchen section of the dollar store works great in place of a mould & deckle and I have been so happy to see many of you adopt this method. Its inexpensive and so simple The good news is you probably have all the supplies at home and if not, they are hopefully accessible and inexpensive (l purchased what I needed from the dollar store) Here’s how: we gather our scraps of paper Soak them for a few hours Blend the paper and water into a pulp Por our pulp into a bucket filled about 1/3 with water Sprinkle our seeds (we get ours from a local seed exchange but I have found that wildflowers are a great and inexpensive option) Dip our splatter

Cassandra Evans (Sunny) // Folk Living on Instagram: "Happy happy September 🌞🍁🍂 We have some pumpkins ready for picking, which means it’s time for one of my favorite late summer/autumn crafts. To make these pumpkins compostable, I make a food-grade glue that can be washed off or simply composted. That way you can still enjoy eating your delicious heirloom pumpkins because they are food, after all! Of course, this will not withstand rain, so if you’re wanting to leave your pumpkins outside, th

Figs (the fruit of Ficus caria) are delicious, but did you know that the leaves are also edible and have a wonderfully aromatic coconut-vanilla flavor profile when boiled? Let me know if you try it for yourself! (I might have to go pick some more pears and make poached pears with fig syrup)! Recipe: Pick two good handfuls of the freshest, youngest fig leaves you can find. The accompanying stems are extra flavorful so include them too! Boil in enough water to cover leaves until water changes color and is very fragrant. Remove leaves and add an amount of sugar to the water that roughly equals the amount of water you used. Boil until slightly thickened. Cool, bottle, and enjoy! #figleafsyrup #ficuscaria #mushroomauntie #foragedrecipes #simplesyrup | chaoticforager | chaoticforager · Original audio
