Richard Hanley Jaeckel (1926 – 1997) was an actor of film and television. He became a highly respected and in-demand character actor in his career, which spanned six decades. His movies included, The Gunfighter (1950), Apache Ambush (1955), 3:10 to Yuma (1957) and Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid (1973). My favorite movie with him in it was, "Sometimes a Great Notion" (1971) with Paul Newman and Henry Fonda. One of the best movies ever.
