Everything the Power of the World does is done in a circle. The sky is round, and I have heard that the earth is round like a ball, and so are the stars. Birds make their nests in circles, for theirs is the same religion as ours. The life of a man is a circle. Our tepees were round like the nests of birds, and these were always set in a circle, the nation’s hoop, a nest of many nests, where the Great Spirit meant for us to hatch our children." - Black Elk, 1931
TEN NATIVE AMERICAN TEACHINGS
Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the wind, & whose breath gives life to the world, hear me. I come before you, one of your children. I am small and meek,I need your strength and wisdom.Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset.Make my hands respect the things you have made,My ears sharp to hear your voice.Make me wise that I may know the things you have taught my people,The lesson you have hidden in every leaf and rock.
Painted face. (Guests can have their faces painted after the ceremony too!! Bridesmaids will have this as they walk down the aisle. The bride -- me -- would have simplistic natural makeup. A little smudged eyeliner. Mascara. Nude lip. -- like her in the photo without the face paint. Then, after the ceremony, the bride and the groom will have the *most* elaborate markings painted on their faces. **imagine the pictures that will come of this!!!** #Wedding #MyBigDay
