Bergheim is a walled town located in the Department of Haut-Rhin in the heart of the wine route of Alsace, some 20 kilometres north of Colmar and 10 km southwest of Sélestat. This former medieval city, built on the site of a former Roman camp, offers a beautiful panorama on the slopes of the vineyards overlooked by the castle of Haut-Koenigsbourg. The ramparts of Bergheim, dating from the 14th century, are very well preserved.
