Pulmonary Hypertension: defined as sustained increase in pulmonary pressure above 30 mm Hg systolic. Primary PH is idiopathic, with a few linked causes. Prognosis is not good. Secondary PH results from a known disease of pathophys condition. The key to treatment is to catch it early, and control the underlying condition (in secondary this is possible). Avoidance of vigorous exercise, diuretics, and vasodilators are used to reduce symptoms.
